Author Guidelines
Journal "Trends in physical education and sport" publishes full research Articles and author¢s Reviews in the field of Sport, sports medicine, physical education.
The original papers only in English are accepted for review in «Trends in physical education and sport». All submitted manuscripts are checked for originality using the Antiplagiat services, and are also subject to double-blind peer review.
All sections of the article should be logically connected to each other. The purpose of the study (research problem), materials and methods of research, research results and their contribution to the development of the relevant branch of physical education and sport should be clear from the text of the article.
All abbreviations and acronyms (excluding obviously well-known) should be spelled out when first used in the text.
Only formulas that are referenced in the text of the article are numbered.
Figures must be of the highest quality, without unnecessary information, all captions must be clearly readable. Figures and tables must have links in the text.
It is recommended to carefully check the text of the manuscript before submitting it to the journal.
By submitting a manuscript to the journal, the Authors guarantee the correctness of all information about themselves, the absence of plagiarism and other forms of unlawful borrowing in the manuscript, and the correctness of all citations.
Attention! Manuscripts prepared in violation of the journal's requirements or containing a large number of grammatical and spelling errors, automatic translation into English, are not accepted for consideration and are returned to the authors without review.
If necessary, the Editors may request additional experimental data from the Authors.
Regardless of the results of the initial decision, the article may be retracted, rejected, or returned for revision at any stage of the publishing process if gross errors, extensive borrowing, erroneous citation, or other unethical behavior of the Authors are discovered.
The following files should be prepared by the Authors before submitting a manuscript to the «Trends in physical education and sport»:
1) Article Text file - the main file of the manuscript in DOC or DOCX format containing all sections, figures and tables prepared according to all requirements (see Article`s template).
General Requirements for Manuscripts
Overlapping the thematic focus of the journal. The study must be carried out in the sport, sport medicine, physical education and contain new knowledge in this. The object of research may be training process and other data of sport, sport medicine and physical education. The manuscript must correspond to one of the thematic sections of the journal: sport, sport medicine, physical education.
Originality and Novelty. The research material presented in the manuscript must be new and original, not previously published anywhere. The manuscript must meet the requirements of originality and novelty not only in terms of text, but also in terms of new knowledge in the field of physical education, sport and sport medicine.
Logical presentation. The manuscript should be structured according to the IMRAD (Introduction, Methods, Results, and Discussion). format. All sections of the manuscript should be logically interconnected so that readers can understand the research problem, the purpose of the study, the research methodology, the obtained results and conclusions, and also the impact of the study on the development of a specific field of scientific knowledge.
Manuscript completeness. The study must be completed, and the purpose of the study must be achieved. The authors' conclusions must be reasonable and not contain generalizations reflecting generally known results.
Presentation style. The text of the manuscript should be written in an academic scientific style and presented in competent professional English. All borrowed and little-known terms should be clarified. It is recommended to avoid ambiguity of statements and ambiguity in the interpretation of the basic concepts.
Statistical processing of experimental data. The manuscript should contain a short (for generally accepted) or detailed (for methods proposed by the authors) description of the method of statistical processing of experimental data and the results of this processing.
Design of the Manuscript
Article size. The minimum size of an article is 5 pages, the maximum size is 15 pages of text typed on a computer (Microsoft Word editor), without a References list.
Text Format. Document margin size: 25 mm top and bottom, 20 mm right and left. Font: 11 pt Times New Roman. Line spacing: single. Alignment: width. Paragraph indent: 0.8 cm.
The structure of the manuscript includes the following sections:
Title: UDC (universal decimal code) for the research topic, information about the authors (11-point Bold), affiliations, city, country, email address of the corresponding author (9-point Bold), title of the article (13-point Bold).
Abstract: is written according to the IMRAD structure (Introduction, Methods, Results, and Discussion). The abstract size is 180-200 words (9-point Bold).
Keywords: at least 8-10 basic terms or short phrases used in the article (9-point Bold);
Introduction: an introduction to the research problem, a brief review of the most significant publications, a demonstration what has already been done in this scientific area and what gaps exist, explanation of the relevance and novelty of the study; clear and specific formulation of the purpose of the study (11-point Bold).
Experimental (Research Materials and Methods): a complete and detailed description of the materials and research methods used in the study, including methods for collecting, processing, and analyzing data; sample characteristics (in the case of using a sample study); The methodology of statistical processing of experimental data should be presented (11-point Bold).
Results and Discussion: a description and interpretation of the research results with numbers, tables, graphs, figures (11-point Bold).
Conclusions: detailed and proven conclusions must be presented taking into account the stated purpose of the study; comparison of the obtained results with existing ones; assessment of the scientific novelty and practical value of the study and its results.
Funding: This section should describe sources of funding that have supported the work. Authors should state how the research described in their article was funded, including grant numbers if applicable. If there is no funding involved, this statement may be omitted (11-point Bold).
References: The list of References should be formatted according to the APA 7 international bibliography format. Trends in physical education and sport requires authors to follow the APA 7th edition style for references. All citations within the manuscript must be formatted according to the APA guidelines. DOIs of publication should be included in references if available.Use square brackets [] for citations. The first citation in the text should have the number [1], the second - [2], etc. References to unpublished papers are not allowed (9-point Bold).
Cite references within the text by including the author's name and year in parentheses:
Negotiation research covers a range of disciplines (Weston, 2018).
When author names are part of the sentence only date appear in parentheses:
This finding was later challenged by Ortiz and Patel (2021).
For multiple sources:
This phenomenon has been extensively researched (Davies, 2015; Li et al., 2017; McConnell & Ivanov, 2019; Yamada et al., 2020).
